Thank You!

Thank you to all who attended the Ocean Optics XXIV Conference! We experienced record participation this year; 337 participants from 35 countries traveled to Dubrovnik to learn and collaborate with colleagues. We look forward to seeing everyone in October 2020 in Norfolk, Virginia, USA!

Welcome

Dragi sudionici Ocean Optics kongresa,
dobrodošli u Dubrovnik!

We, the co-chairs and the members of the planning committee, welcome you to the Ocean Optics XXIV conference. We are delighted and excited to have you here, in the beautiful city of Dubrovnik on the coast of the Adriatic Sea (Case I waters side). Over the past two years, we have worked hard to build this agenda which encompasses oral and poster sessions, town halls, and short courses. The program is highly diverse, and for next five days you will hear the best of what our field has produced over the last two years; the basic and applied research in in-water optics and ocean color from different continents. As always, we strive to support our early career colleagues and give them a platform to present their work, and welcome them into this big, happy ocean optics family. » Read more

The Conference

Ocean optics attracts a diverse audience of active practitioners in this field, including oceanographers, marine ecologists, limnologists, optical engineers, marine resource managers, and policy professionals from around the world.

Conference presentations will include the science of optics across all aquatic environments, research, and applications, including (but not limited to) biogeochemistry, environmental management and applications, instruments, techniques and observational systems, remote sensing, phytoplankton ecology, radiative transfer and optical theory, global change, and benthic processes. Attendees will attend plenary presentations during the day and interact with colleagues during scientific poster session receptions held in the exhibit/poster hall in the early evening.

In addition to invited and contributed oral and poster presentations, the conference will provide the opportunity for community-wide discussions in the form of town halls, workshops, and short courses. Small group meetings are also convened providing attendees with the opportunity to meet with collaborators or fellow committee members.
